People usually work for 40 years before retirement. And if they get lucky with their jobs they get around two weeks of vacation in a year.

So in the span of forty years people get around eighty weeks to enjoy their lives. And if you’re good with maths, it’s around 4% of their 40-years of their work lives.

The question is “is 4% enjoyment” worthwhile to spend 40 years in slavery?

Of course, you can say that even 4% enjoyment is worthwhile keeping in view the sufferings of unemployment.

For me, just 4% enjoyment in my work life is not enough. It should at least be 40%, which means 20 weeks of vacation in a year. This is the time that should be reserved for creativity and to find the purpose of our lives.

What do you think?
