Just like machines, our bodies need timeouts and breaks to function optimally.
I believe that the major cause of illnesses/diseases is that we burn out our bodies until either something breaks or our resistance gets low to attract disease.
In order to perform optimally schedule breaks regularly. Never skip any opportunity of taking timeouts from fun weekends to yearly vacations.
I’ve observed that planning for a vacation is just as much fun as going for it. It’s the anticipation of the fun ahead that keeps us motivated.
